Challenge

It was a bright winter's day in 2018 when we were approached by the Coastal Learning Alliance to help guide the launch of their business into the online world. The CLA have a mission to help improve education across Dorset by supporting schools and teachers with training programmes. Their aim, to improve teaching to improve education. This desire is shared by many in the profession; Coastal Learning Alliance just needed an online presence to base themselves from.

Process

Working closely with Coastal Learning’s programme leader, we began planning and understanding objectives for the website. It became clear that the website would not be an awareness tool in their customer journey but a consideration and purchase point. This knowledge led us to the conclusion that we needed to quickly present the courses available from the alliance and how they could book on. We began prototyping the design and experimenting with different user journeys to make things as easy as possible for visitors. After rounds of testing, we were able to land on a solution.

Solution

The final digital experience elevates Coastal Learning into a programme leader in the local area. With a strong site structure and two user flows, those finding more about the courses, and those wanting to book, the simple design helps put explorers at ease with content that is easy to digest and engages with them emotional reminding them of their passion for teaching and wanting to see little lives transformed. We utilised Eventbrite as the booking system for the courses, and used its directory as another location to promote the courses.
